EU postpones introduction of ETIAS until 2025

The EU Commission has postponed the introduction of an electronic entry system to May 2025. Citizens from over 60 visa-free countries will then have to apply for a travel authorization in the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) before traveling to any of the 30 European countries.

International exhibitors and visitors are back

One of the major advantages of German trade fairs in terms of global competition is the high level of international representation among both exhibitors and visitors. In 2022, the figures will not yet reach the level before the coronavirus pandemic, but foreign countries are back in terms of share.

310 foreign trade shows in 2024 by German exhibition companies

German trade show organisers are planning around 310 trade fairs in 40 countries in 2024. This is the finding of a current survey conducted by AUMA. Many of these projects are satellite events associated with trade fairs that have been successfully running in Germany for many years.

German trade fair year ready for take-off with strong tailwind

The German trade fair industry is starting the New Year with strong tailwind: More than 330 trade fairs are planned in Germany for 2024. The schedule of events kicks off this week with the Heimtextil in Frankfurt, along with the leading European trade fair for the advertising industry (photo), PSI, in Dusseldorf and the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings, Domotex, in Hanover.

New Federal Minister of Economics: No 100-day honeymoon

The trade fair industry in Germany is demanding clear trade fair rules from the new federal government. The situation is dramatic: the damage in 2021 is even higher than in 2020. For 2022, more than a dozen trade fairs have already been postponed or even cancelled.
